Value of old 626?
Asked by John Vincent
We have inherited a 1985 Mazda 626, which has done about 58,000km and has not been out of the owner's garage since 1999, although it is still registered! It is in excellent condition, with exception of tyres and battery, although the back seat and inside rear door panels have been removed for some reason and we have not put those back. We would like some advice please about what it might be worth.

1 May 2015Not very much is the short answer. A car that has been sitting unused for 15 years or so is likely to need a lot of work, and money to get it back to decent roadworthy condition, despite the low mileage. It needs tyres and a battery, and the back seats are missing, it's worth maybe $250.
