What's the best: Mazda 3, Volkswagen Golf, or Hyundai i30?

I'm looking to buy a new small 4-door car and have narrowed the list to the following: Mazda 3 Maxx, VW Golf (basic), and the Hyundai i30. I prefer manual (but would also buy an auto) and rate reliability and engine quality above pretty much everything else. Which car would you go for?
