Kia Cerato 2006: Loose screw in power steering

Asked by Lucky Bardis

I BOUGHT a Kia Cerato manual sedan six months ago. A grub screw came loose in the power steering and it developed a fluid leak. My dealer told me it was wear and tear, not a warranty issue. That was also the response from Kia customer service. I can't understand how a fixed screw that is not opened or closed on a regular basis can be deemed to be wear and tear. The dealer said it had repaired other Ceratos with the problem. My brother had the same problem with his car, but that was repaired under warranty.

IT SEEMS a straight-forward warranty issue and you should pursue it with Kia directly. A screw normally won't come loose if it is properly tightened in the first place.
