Volvo Australia has updated the S60 sedan for MY22, with the mid-size car now exclusively available with mild hybridisation.
Just like the related V60 Cross Country high-riding wagon that’s launched at the same time, the fresh S60 is only offered in a single variant, with the B5 Inscription priced from $62,490 plus on-road costs, which is $1500 more than its T5 Inscription predecessor asked for.
For reference, the MY21 S60 range kicked off from $55,990 for the T5 Momentum and reached $64,990 for the T5 R-Design, with the T5 Inscription slotting in between.

The B5 Inscription is motivated by a familiar 2.0-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine, although its 183kW/350Nm version also features a 48V mild-hybrid system that uses a Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) to provide an initial electric boost via an integrated starter generator (ISG).
Mated to an eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system, the B5 Inscription’s standard equipment includes LED headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry and a hands-free power-operated bootlid.
Inside, a panoramic sunroof, push-button start, a 9.0-inch touchscreen multimedia system, satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, digital radio, a 12.0-inch digital instrument cluster, a wireless smartphone charger, power-adjustable front seats with heating, four-zone climate control, leather-accented upholstery and Driftwood trim feature.
Advanced driver-assist systems in the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, BMW 3 Series, Lexus IS, Audi A4 and Alfa Romeo Giulia rival extend to autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep and steering assist, adaptive cruise control (with stop and go functionality), blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and surround-view cameras.
