Polestar has announced a mild update for its first mass-produced model, adding a smidge more driving range and streamlining options for the MY25 Polestar 2.
European-delivered Polestar 2 Standard Range models see their battery size increase by 1kWh to 70kWh but this is not the case for Chinese-built Australian cars, which will retain the 69kWh pack.
Software optimisation does see range improve slightly for all models, with the 82kWh pack Long Range Single Motor now certified at 659km in the WLTP combined test – an increase of 4km.
Two new paint colours join the palette with Vapor replacing no-cost Magnesium and Storm (from the Polestar 4) added in place of Thunder.
There are also new aero covers for the standard 19-inch alloy wheels with a 20-inch 'Pro graphite' design available in conjunction with the Pro pack.

Speaking of, there's a new Charcoal Nappa leather upholstery from animal welfare-friendly Bridge of Weir along with a new 'Swedish Gold' seatbelt accent for Pro pack buyers.
Optioning up the new Polestar 2, the Climate Pack now includes a heat pump, heated rear seats, wiper nozzles and steering wheel. The new Pro Pack, meanwhile, joins the existing Pilot, Plus and Performance packs.
As before, a 220kW/490Nm rear-mounted Single Motor is available in Standard or Long Range guise while the flagship Dual Motor comes exclusively with the big battery producing 350kW and 740Nm.
Standard Range models can recuperate up to 135kW (DC) while Long Range Polestar 2s can accept up to 205kW, for 10-80 per cent in 28 minutes.

Polestar has sold 594 examples of the 2 so far this year. It will be joined by the larger Polestar 3 SUV and unique Polestar 4 shortly.
The revised Polestar 2 is gearing up for its Australian launch by the fourth quarter of this year, with final specification and pricing details yet to be locked in.
Current visually identical models are available in Australia with Polestar offering between $5000-$15,000 off selected variants until the end of June.
