Hot on the heels of the Australian government's mandatory Takata airbag recall, Ford, Audi and Tesla have joined the list of carmakers to detail which of it's models are affected.
Ford has disclosed it has four vehicles subject to the recall; the Ranger, Mondeo and the discontinued Econovan and Courier ute, though none of these models contain the 'alpha' airbag inflator which is said to pose the highest risk of explosion upon deployment.
Ford's largest recall concerns the PK Ranger, with 69,363 units built between September 2006 and August 2011 requiring a call back for the driver and/or passenger airbag to be replaced.
The second-most heavily affected Ford model is the Courier ute, with 21,795 units built between February 2004 and September 2006 requiring a replacement driver's airbag.
A total of 1300 Econovans built between February 2004 and October 2005, and an unspecified number of Mondeos manufactured between 2007-09 and 2015-17 also require replacement airbag/s.
A complete VIN list for the Ranger, Courier and Econovan is available on the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission's (ACCC) recalls website.
Audi has also outlined which of its models are caught up in the Takata airbag recall, also expressing that none of the models contain 'alpha' airbags.
Passenger models affected by the call back include 13,119 examples of the A3 from 2006-13, 8345 of the A4 from 2005-08, 4117 of the A6 from 2005-11, 3315 of the A5 from 2010-11 and 473 of the A4 Cabriolet from 2007-09.
Also joining the list of affected Audi models is the Q5 SUV built from 2009-12 with 9244 examples, and 1305 TTs and 128 R8 coupes, both built between 2016-17.
American EV manufacturer Tesla will be forced to recall examples of its Model S sedan built between 2014-16, though the company is yet to provide the exact number of affected vehicles.
