Ford GT teased in even hotter form ahead of Goodwood
Ford has teased a new addition to its GT supercar ahead of its reveal at next week's Goodwood Festival of Speed.
While Ford is yet to provide any information to accompany the single image provided, the addition of a huge rear wing and a roof-mounted air intake is obvious, and reeks of even more performance.
The upgrades to the Ford GT will likely accompany the twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre petrol V6 engine with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. It will likely produce more than the standard model's 470kW of power and 731Nm of torque. With its extra power, the new GT could eclipse the ‘standard’ GT's claimed 3.2 second 0-100km/h sprint and 348km/h top speed.
Initially limited to a run of 1000 units, the Ford GT has been more popular than Ford’s expectations and the company expanded the production run to 1350 cars.
Despite this new addition to the range, the updated Ford GT is unlikely to be sold in Australia thanks to its left-hand drive-only status.
The new addition to the Ford GT will debut at the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed, which commences on July 4.
