Infiniti 2018 Q50 and Q60 pricing and spec confirmed

Less variants and altered pricing for the Infiniti Q50 and Q60 will come into effect on August 1.

Infiniti Cars Australia has announced updates for its Q50 sedan and Q60 coupe ranges with consolidated variants, updated pricing and changes to equipment levels.

With the diesel-powered Q50 was discontinued in November last year, the all-wheel drive hybrid, 2.0T GT Enhancement Pack and 2.0T Sports Premium offerings have also been deleted.

Opening the range is the 2.0T Pure variant from $54,900 plus on-roads, powered by a 155kW/350Nm turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine, while a new entry-level V6 version has been created - it's called the 3.0T Pure, and is priced from $58,900.

The 3.0T Pure is powered by a 224kW/400Nm twin-turbo V6, with both Pure variants receiving a surround-view monitor, active lane control, LED headlights with daytime running lamps, adaptive front lights with high-beam assist and pedestrian detection as standard.

Infiniti has renamed the 3.0T Sport Premium variant to 3.0T Sport, with a $5500 cut now reducing the asking price to $64,900. The Sport, which uses the same powertrain as the 3.0T Pure, adds lane departure warning, active lane-keep assist, active blind-spot assist and autonomous emergency braking (AEB).

The rear-drive 3.5T Hybrid Sport Premium has been renamed to HEV 2WD Blue Sport, and has seen a price cut of $2500 to now come in at $70,900. Powered by a 3.5-litre V6 mild-hybrid powertrain developing 268kW/546Nm, the Blue Sport is now second-from-top in the Q50 range behind the 3.0T Red Sport, which dials power up to 298kW/475Nm from its twin-turbo bent-six.

Pricing has also been chopped for the 3.0T Red Sport, down $5000 to $74,900. All Q50 and Q60 versions drive the rear wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission.

The Q60 line-up has been consolidated from four variants to two, with Infiniti deleting the GT with Enhancement Pack and Sports Premium versions.

The range-opening GT has been renamed 2.0T Pure, which now comes with a $1000 increase to $63,900, and includes surround-view monitor, adaptive front lighting and a sunroof as standard.

It gains predictive forward collision warning, AEB with pedestrian detection, surround-view monitor with moving object detection and newly-designed 20-inch alloy wheels.

Through the first half of 2018 Infiniti has sold 78 examples of the Q50 and 41 of the Q60, down 22.8 per cent and up 2.5 per cent, respectively.
