Jaguar F-Pace 300 Sport and Chequered Flag confirmed for September

Jaguar is adding two new 300 Sport and Chequred Flag variants to the F-Pace range as part of a wider MY20 update for the mid-size SUV. They are available to order now, but will not arrive in showrooms until September.

The Chequered Flag edition is based on the R-Design trim level and sitting one rung above it price-wise, the Chequered Flag adds a bespoke exterior treatment, including gloss black detailing on the grille, door cladding, side vents and roof rails.

Inside the Chequered Flag gets leather interior trim with 10-way electrically adjustable front seats, aluminium garnishes and branded treadplates. Standard spec is increased from the R-Design to include built-in sat-nav, a premium Meridian audio system and digital ‘Interactive Driver Display’ dash as standard.

The F-Pace Chequered Flag is priced from $85,105 (MSRP) and can be chosen with a '25t' 2.0-litre turbo petrol (184kW) or a '20d' 132kW or '25d' 177kW 2.0-litre turbo diesel options.

The Chequered Flag is only available with all-wheel drive and like all F-Paces is paired with an eight-speed torque converter auto.

Meanwhile the 300 Sport edition is more performance-focused and starts from $93,015 (MSRP). It is available with either the brand’s most powerful '30t' 221kW 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine or the '30d' 3.0-litre diesel V6 which also produces 221kW but with a whopping 700Nm of torque. It is positioned above the Chequered Flag, but below the S. The 300 Sport is also exclusively all-wheel drive.

The 300 Sport is only available with either the petrol or diesel 221kW engine options.

Standard spec for the 300 Sport includes satin grey exterior highlights on the grille, mirror housings, door garnish and rear valance. The 300 Sport will only be available in white, silver or black.

Inside, the 300 Sport gains contrast yellow stitching, 14-way power adjustable front seats, full leather trim, as well as branding on the treadplates, floor mats, steering wheel and front headrests. Like the Chequered Flag, built-in navigation and premium audio are standard.

These two new editions join a slew of minor changes for the F-Pace’s 2020 model year update which includes Apple CarPlay and Android auto connectivity as standard across the range and rear lighting that no longer automatically activates during the day in order to "minimise CO2 emissions."

Full pricing for the 2020 Jaguar F-Pace range is expected later this year but we do know it will kick off from a new starting point of $77,380 (MSRP) – $970 above its current $76,410 start price.
