Kia Picanto GT-Line 2018 pricing and specs confirmed

The GT-Line adds unique styling cues and a handful of extra features to the Picanto light car.

Kia Motors Australia (KMAu) has announced local pricing for its new Picanto GT-Line, with the sporty-looking light car kicking off at $17,490 driveaway.

The price of the GT-Line is in keeping with KMAu's previously stated target of “well below $20,000”, sitting just $1800 above the current automatic Picanto S.

Borrowing from the limited-run Picanto Australian Open Edition that was launched in January, the full-time GT-Line boasts a handful of new interior and exterior features designed to give the car a sportier look and feel.

Exterior upgrades over the S include 16-inch alloy wheels (instead of 14s), LED position lights and daytime running lights, GT-Line badging and a trim package that includes a bodykit, dual exhaust tips and contrasting body accents.

On the inside, the GT-Line has been treated to a six-speaker sound system, alloy-finish sports pedals and premium seats with red accents.

The city runabout is available in white as standard, or three premium paint colours including silver, black and red, offered for an extra $520.

Mechanically the car is unchanged, motivated by a 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine capable of 62kW of power and 122Nm of torque, and mated exclusively to a four-speed automatic transmission. The manual option available on the Picanto S is not offered with the GT-Line.
