Cops up the pace in McLaren V8.
Think you can run from the police? Think again.
It appears the NSW Police force has just taken delivery of a McLaren 650S supercar.
The British-made vehicle was spotted on the back of a tow truck in Sydney yesterday, complete with NSW Police livery. Retailing for just under $450,000 in Australia, the 650S is capable of screaming from 0-100km/h in 2.9 seconds thanks to its 478kW V8 engine.
NSW Police said the car is a promotional tool to help raise money for the families of fallen police and comes at no cost to taxpayers.
An Audi RS4 and a Porsche Panamera have been previously donated to the force. But the country’s most powerful police car is the one-off Dick Johnson-tuned Ford GT-F. The super-charged V8 packs a whopping 600kW – 150kW more than a Ford V8 Supercar.
Unlike the McLaren, it works as a fully functional highway patrol car.
