Mini safety upgrade for 2019 improves standard features across Cooper and Countryman range

Standard safety and spec increases across the 2019 Mini range.
Mini Australia has announced it will make a previously-optional safety pack standard across the Cooper hatch, convertible and Countryman ranges.
The pack (previously priced at $1350) includes key camera-based active safety items, including ‘City Collision Mitigation’ - a feature that will slow the car if an accident is likely (but not bring it to a full stop like Auto Emergency Braking), forward collision warning (FCW), high beam assist (auto high-beam control), and a ‘speed limit info’ display.
Higher-spec S and JCW variants of the Cooper also gain the ‘Comfort Access’ pack (previously priced at $450) which includes keyless entry and push start, as well as the 'Navigation System Professional' (normally priced at $600) which includes built-in navigation and a larger 8.8-inch touchscreen.
The navigation system is now also standard across the Countryman, Cooper D and Cooper SD variants.
Mini says it has made these specification changes as the packs were hugely popular anyway, and it wishes to deliver “continually improved substance to the Mini range.”
Pricing has been tweaked slightly across Mini’s 2019 range to account for the changes, see the full pricing below.
