New Abarth 695 70° Anniversario 2021 pricing and specs detailed: Special-edition hot hatch targets Ford Fiesta ST, Volkswagen Polo GTI

Just 40 examples of the 695 70° Anniversario will be up for grabs in Australia.

Abarth Australia has released the 695 70° Anniversario, a special-edition grade of its flagship hot hatch that’s limited to only 40 units locally.

From a global production run of 1949 units, the 695 70° Anniversario is based on the 595 Competizione hatchback but pays tribute to Abarth’s racing history by adding more sporty features.

Priced from $44,950 plus on-road costs, the 695 70° Anniversario commands $10,960 and $12,960 premiums over the five-speed manual and automated manual variants of the 595 Competitizione respectively.

For the extra spend, 695 70° Anniversario buyers get a manually adjustable rear spoiler, which has 12 different positions from zero to 60 degrees, helping to improve performance, aerodynamics and high-speed stability.

The 695 70° Anniversario also features a front limited-slip differential (manual only), a Monza sports exhaust system, black 17-inch SuperSport alloy wheels, red Brembo brake callipers, Campovolo Grey accents, a Scorpion bonnet decal, a chequered roof and 70° Anniversario badging.

Inside, the 695 70° Anniversario picks up Sabelt Tricolore sports seats and a numbered 70° Anniversario build plate.

Other standard equipment includes dusk-sensing Xenon headlights, LED foglights, dusk-sensing wipers, a 7.0-inch touchscreen Uconnect multimedia system, satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, digital radio and climate control.

Five paintwork options are available, with Pista Grey, Gara White, Scorpione Black and Podium Blue joined by Monza 1958 Green, which is exclusive to the Ford Fiesta ST and Volkswagen Polo GTI rival.

Just like the 595 Competizione, the 695 70° Anniversario is powered by a 132kW/250Nm 1.4-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine that drives the front wheels.
