The ultra-exclusive Heritage Edition Targa will pay penance to Porsche history.
Porsche has thrown the covers off of a limited ‘Heritage Design Edition’ of its recently-unveiled 911 Targa.
The Heritage Design Edition will be limited to just 992 units (to match the 992 model code of the current-generation 911). The special-edition comes in two unique trims designed to reference the styling points of the first 911 Targa and the “early days of Porsche competition history,” according to the brand.
Each car will also wear the Porsche Heritage badge, a “quality seal” that was first worn by examples of the 911-preceding Porsche 356 when it reached 100,000km of mileage. The Porsche crests will also be replaced by faithful re-creations of the brand’s badge circa-1963.
The two available interior trims choices are between the Bordeaux Red or Black with Atacama Beige highlights, which also both feature courduroy seat and door trim designed to revive “the zeitgeist and fashion of the 50s”.
The Design Heritage edition is only available in 4S all-wheel-drive trim and be powered by the brand’s 331kW/530Nm bi-turbo flat-six engine mated to an eight-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission.

It will wear an MSRP of $395,300 (commanding a significant $80,900 price-hike over the regular Targa 4S) and is available to order now for a Q4 2020 arrival.
