Get your new ute before July for special end-of-financial-year deals and for some businesses, a range of eligible tax breaks.
There are more utes on the market than ever before and thanks to safety and multimedia advances they can be the perfect week-day worker and weekend family hauler as well the perfect get-away machine for holidays, especially if you need a tough rig to tow the caravan.
Here are some deals to help you get out and explore.
Prices for the latest Triton now start at $36,990 drive-away for the GLX ADAS (safety package) with automatic and 2WD with the long seven-year warranty.
Mitsubishi has launched its new Triton but there's still some examples of the previous model hanging around to save some bucks.
Savings are about $4500 on similar grades before bonuses, and though the 2019 model has more equipment and a boost in safety, the engines are identical.
The 2018 Triton Blackline - a special-edition variant with lots of blacked out components and extra bar work - is $45,990 drive-away for the automatic and gets a $3000 bonus from the factory.
Opt for the manual Blackline and it's $43,490 drive-away before the bonus, plus Mitsubishi will throw in metallic paint at no extra cost.
The same bonus and paint deal applies to the top-spec Triton Exceed from 2018. With automatic transmission, it is now $46,990 drive-away and $43,990 when the bonus is applied.
There's also the 2018 mid-spec GLS with automatic transmission at $42,490 drive-away.
If you must have the new model, one of the biggest lures is the boost in the warranty period that is now seven years/150,000km, up from five years/100,000km.
