Genesis has slashed thousands off the price of its GV60 electric SUV.
The range now kicks off at $104,000 (before on-road costs) for the base GV60 and $111,000 for the potent Performance variant, a saving of more than $2000 for each.
The GV60 uses two electric motors - one on each axle - to provide all-wheel drive and beefy outputs of 234kW and 605Nm.
It is fed by a circa-77kWh battery that delivers a driving range of up to 470km.
The Performance version builds on this with its two electric motors making 360kW and 700Nm.
All GV60 models are generously equipped with plenty of luxury items included as standard.
That extra grunt drops the 0-100km time from 5.5 seconds down to 4.6 seconds. If you are using the performance variant’s boost function it can complete the benchmark sprint time in four seconds flat.
The GV60 Performance range drops slightly to 466km.
Genesis has removed the standard digital side mirrors and installed conventional mirrors as standard.
Buyers keen on the futuristic tech can option the digital side mirrors for $3000. Matte paint is the only other option, priced at $2000.
All GV60 variants come with plenty of goodies such as dual 12.3-inch displays: one for the multimedia and the other for the driver’s instruments.
Digital side mirrors are no longer standard on the GV60.
Passengers are treated to plush Nappa leather wrapped seats and a 17-speaker Bang and Olufsen stereo is standard across the range.
The GV60 is a slow seller for the brand with only 20 examples having found a new home through the first three months of this year, which is down more than 60 per cent compared to the same period in 2023.
