The GWM Cannon Ute range is in runout with sales of between $2000 and $6000 for private buyers – and even larger discounts for ABN holders – as the brand readies its next-generation model.
Set to conclude by December 31, or while stocks last, the entry-level Cannon Premium will now start at $34,490, drive-away — $2000 less than its previous sale starting price of $36,490, drive-away.
ABN holders snag an even better deal with pricing down an additional $1500 to $32,990, drive-away.
In return, the Cannon Premium comes with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel that outputs 120kW/400Nm to the rear wheels (or all-four wheels for an additional $1500) through an eight-speed automatic. It has a 3200kg towing capacity.
Additionally, it gets 18-inch alloys, synthetic leather seats, a 9.0-inch multimedia touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and a surround-view camera.
The biggest discounts can be found at the top end of the range, though, with GWM offering a whopping $6000 off the top-spec Cannon XSR, which now starts at $46,990, drive-away, down from $52,990, drive-away.
Once again, ABN holders get an additional $1500 off, meaning a total reduction of $7500 at $45,490, drive-away.
The Cannon XSR comes with the same motor and power outputs, although four-wheel drive comes standard along with an electronically-powered front and rear locking differential.
Additional off-road features include front and rear steel bumpers, an underbody chassis guard and a snorkel, while there’s a sunroof and black alloy wheels as well.
It is a pretty sharp deal next to established nameplates such as the Ford Ranger, Toyota HiLux, Isuzu D-Max and more.
All GWM Utes are covered by a seven-year/unlimited km warranty, as well as five-years of roadside assist and capped-price servicing.
The runout sale comes as GWM prepares to launch its next-generation Cannon Ute in 2025, which will feature a larger and more powerful 135kW/480Nm 2.4-litre turbo-diesel engine, a towing capacity of 3500kg and revised exterior and interior styling.
