Volkswagen Australia has recalled 16,098 Polo, Golf, Jetta and Passat cars, and Caddy vans, over a problem with their DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission.
On sale between June 1, 2011, and June 1, 2015, MY12-MY14 examples of the Polo, Golf, Jetta, Passat and Caddy fitted with a seven-speed unit “have a fluid leak that can lead to pressure loss in the gearbox”, according to Volkswagen Australia.
“This pressure loss can interrupt the power transmission between the engine and gearbox, resulting in loss of drive function,” the company added in the recall notice.

Affected owners are been contacted directly by Volkswagen Australia with instructions to organise an inspection and free-of-charge repair at an authorised dealership.
Those looking for further information can call the Volkswagen Recall Campaign Hotline on 1800 504 076 during business hours. Alternatively, they can reach out to their preferred dealership.
