Special V8 sports car sold out! Ford Mustang Dark Horse fully spoken for as carmaker introduces $2000 dearer 2025 version of Toyota Supra and BMW M2 rival

Ahead of the seventh-generation Mustang’s Australian market launch, Ford has confirmed all 1000 examples of the limited-run Dark Horse ($103,002) are sold out and won’t be returning for 2025.
The carmaker has also issued revised pricing with a $2000 increase for MY25 models due from early next year with a few minor changes, including a new 'Molten Magenta' paint colour and 'Bronze' appearance pack.
CarsGuide understands the mostly-identical MY25 'S650' generation sports car will begin arriving early next year, with a number of current models still available. Initial examples are landing with customers now with deliveries to increase imminently.

The new EcoBoost is priced from $66,990, before on-road costs. It uses a 2.3-litre, turbo-petrol, four-cylinder developing 232kW and 475Nm with a 10-speed automatic standard.
Specification highlights include LED headlights, a 12.4-inch digital instrument display, 13.2-inch multimedia touchscreen, Bang & Olufsen audio, ‘Track apps’ and four-mode exhaust with ‘Normal’, ‘Sport’, ‘Track’ and ‘Quiet’.
Australian spec Mustangs also get Brembo brakes, a larger radiator with more powerful cooling fans and an electric parking brake with ‘Drift Brake’ mode, delivering the feel and function of a mechanical handbrake for racetrack use.
The manual GT Fastback has risen $1988 to $78,990 before on-road costs and scores a 5.0-litre ‘Coyote’ naturally aspirated V8 petrol producing 345kW and 550Nm.
Changes to the Luxury Car Tax (LCT) threshold have muddied the waters a little with the 10-speed auto GT coupe costing $1088 more at $81,990 and the auto-only V8 convertible at $87,667, before on-road costs.
With Molten Magenta added, Ford has removed 'Atlas Blue', 'Dark Matter Grey', 'Rapid Red' and 'Yellow Splash' from the palette.
The new Bronze Appearance pack replaces the Black pack with 'Sinister Bronze' painted badges (including front Pony) matched to staggered 19 by 9.0-inch front and 19 by 9.5-inch rear alloy wheels for $1500 on the EcoBoost and $1950 for the V8.
Standalone options remain, including MagneRide adaptive dampers ($2950 on EcoBoost and $3835 on the GT), power-adjust Recaro sports seats (same price as MagneRide) and appearance packs for both EcoBoost ($1500) and GT trims ($1950).
