The last of the petrol-powered N cars from South Korea may be upon us this year, if a global teaser from Hyundai is anything to go by.
Hyundai has revealed the exterior design of an updated Elantra N, now called the i30 Sedan N in Australia, touting an aggressive new look that “emphasises the low and wide stance inspired by motorsports competition”.
More angular design elements and a strong signature red stripe around the base of the car are highlighted, as well as new 19-inch wheels and a black Hyundai logo badge.

So far, details of the car itself short of its design have yet to be revealed by the brand, but when asked by CarsGuide, a spokesperson for Hyundai Australia confirmed the updated i30 Sedan N would arrive in Australia at the end of 2023.
The current i30 Sedan N is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that makes 206kW and 393Nm, mated to a six-speed manual or eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The updated sedan could be the last of the petrol N cars from the brand, given the Kona’ move to electrification, and the dying hot hatch segment spelling a likely end to the i30 and i20 N hatches.
