Ultimate glamping companion? LG's Bon Voyage camper-trailer has a fridge, bed and much more!

LG is not known for producing camping equipment but it has revealed the Bon Voyage at CES in Las Vegas.

High-tech glamping on wheels just might be the future of camping if LG Electronics (LG) has anything to do with it.

LG is not a company known for its forays into the outdoors and recreational product realms, but that’s exactly what it’s doing with the latest version of its Bon Voyage camper-trailer.

The new camper was unveiled at CES (Consumer Electronic Show) 2024, which is being held from January 9 to 12 in Las Vegas.

The upgraded Bon Voyage is 3.8m long, 2m wide, and 2.2m high, has been redesigned to the size of a camper-trailer “to optimise space utilisation and mobility”, and is “a customized living space designed to extend the life quality at home out into the nature”, LG reckons.

Types of camper-trailers that are currently available on the market generally run the gamut from very basic box trailer set-ups, through to soft-floor to hard-floor, forward-fold to rear-fold, all the way to more high-tech campers that more closely resemble the Bon Voyage in style, appliances, onboard equipment and versatility.

But the Bon Voyage takes things to a whole new level.

The LG camper is equipped with various furniture and appliances, including a bed, refrigerator, electric stove, water purifier, Styler and shoe care products.

“Its versatility allows for comfortable enjoyment anywhere, with the ability to be easily parked indoors and connected to a car,” LG states.

No dimension or weight details have yet been released but the Bon Voyage seems to be compact enough that a small to medium-sized vehicle would be able to tow it.

Not much else is known about this camper-trailer concept and, sure, the Bon Voyage looks about as boxy, awkward and impractical as a Tesla Cybertruck, but, gee, it just might work.
