Subaru will introduce its first fully electric model, the Solterra, to the Australian market at a significantly lower price than initially announced.
The 2024 Subaru Solterra eclectic car will now cost from $69,990 before on-road costs, a drop of $8000 from the initially announced price of $77,990. That’s a 10.3 per cent price decrease.
The higher Touring grade also now comes in at a lower price, $76,990 ($6700 less than originally), though at a smaller 8.0 per cent drop.

Those who have already ordered a Solterra need not stress about missing out on benefiting from the new price, Subaru Australia has confirmed.
“The readjusted pricing will apply to all existing pre-orders, with no further action required from customers as their Subaru retailer will communicate with them directly on their individual vehicle order,” it said in a statement.
No changes to specifications have been announced for the price drop, and Solterras will still come with a complimentary five-year service plan and five years of roadside assistance.
The electric car’s new pricing means it’s now cheaper than all-wheel-drive variants of rivals like the Kia EV6, Tesla Model Y and Hyundai Ioniq 5, and bang on the same price as the smaller Volvo EX30 Twin Performance Ultra.
Both variants of the Solterra are dual-motor AWD, with a 71.4kWh lithium-ion battery pack and claimed range of 414km. Outputs are 160kW/337Nm.
