Thanks to the magic of French quirkiness and flair, the Citroen C4 Cactus has managed to drop a big dab of personality into the booming but often me-too small SUV segment.
We've already deemed the manual petrol as the pick of the Australian Cactus range, with the diesel auto stunted by its low-tech single clutch auto transmission.
The petrol model still isn't perfect though, carrying a price premium over its closest Japanese rivals and not quite matching them for safety equipment.
Nikki and Peter have put it to the Torquing Heads test to see if the petrol Cactus' flair is enough to outweigh more logical choices.
