The Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) GTS has represented the pinnacle of sporting Holden Commodores since 1987, when the Melbourne-based company was nominated as Holden’s official tuning house.
Debuting in 1992 with the VP GTS, the nameplate was reserved for only the most powerful HSVs. Eight generations of the four-door, five-seat large sedan – but no wagon – would culminate in the most powerful passenger car ever made in Australia, the GTS 30TH Edition at $95,590 offering 430kW/740Nm.
Its 2017 swansong was the GTS R W1, which made an incredible 474kW/815Nm from a supercharged 6.2-litre V8 engine.
