The coolest car you'll never drive is about to be axed

Only 33 examples of the 3 Wheeler P101 will be built.

The Morgan 3 Wheeler is one of the most intriguing vehicles on the road. Yep, there's the whole "three wheels" thing, but this iconic British funster is also renowned for its aircraft-inspired design and style, it's unbridled effervescence, and its bugs-in-your-mouth motorcycle-like drive experience.

The original eye-catching Morgan model, however, is doomed. The 2021 Morgan 3 Wheeler will be the final petrol-powered version, and it'll be seen out by this new special edition version, known as the P101 (for Project 101).

Only 33 examples will be built, with the model carrying over the 2.0-litre V-Twin engine that scores its manual gearbox from a Mazda MX-5. It's not overly powerful, but it's light and low, so it'll feel faster than it is.

So the conventional (if you can call it that) version of the 3 Wheeler will be dead and buried by the end of next year - you can still try and get one, they cost £45,000 (AUD $82,088 at time of writing).

But there could well be an electric successor to the best-selling Morgan model ever, with the brand stating "The Morgan 3 Wheeler will return". We just hope it looks like the EV3 concept.
