K-Mart recently charged me $2839 for a 60,000 km service on my 2005 Astra, have I been ripped off? The service included the timing belt, water pump, and front and rear brakes. The car now idles really roughly, so much so it sounds like it is going to stall. K-Mart insists they can't find anything, but another diagnostic place confirmed the engine is 'missing' quite severely. K-Mart then tried to charge me $600 for an ignition coil which didn't fix the problem.

5 Oct 2010It does seem like a lot of money for the work done, particularly when it has come back to you with a problem. I would insist of them fixing it, but if you feel you don’t have any confidence in them getting it right, I would take it somewhere else and send them the bill.
