Asked by John Eaton
Two young friends of mine drive a Ford Festiva and a Ford Fiesta respectively and both have had problems with front wheel bearings. Neither car is driven hard, but one has just had a front wheel bearing replaced at about 60,000 km and the other is on its third front wheel bearing. I find this most unusual. Have you heard of this and what could be done to rectify this problem?
Answered by CarsGuide
14 Oct 2010We haven't received any reports of problems with wheel bearings on these cars. The Festiva was on the market for a long time and there was nothing to suggest there was a widespread problem with it, and while the Fiesta hasn't been here for a very long time it doesn't appear to have a history of problems in that area either.
