Asked by Anthony Dawson
My wife and I own a 2003 Mazda6 manual Luxury Sports hatch with just under 100,000km on the clock and I have bought a caravan of 950kg tare. I am wanting to buy a used medium/large SUV in diesel so we have good towing capacity, but my wife won't give up leather/sunroof/luxury items. I have looked at, but not driven, a diesel Captiva LX. Everyone I talk to says stay away from them. Can you please advise? I thought it was the petrol ones that were trouble.

29 Sep 2014Drive straight past the Captiva, just like Tammie, and go for a secondhand Kia Sportage with all the fruit. It's a much better vehicle.
