Cerato to replace Jetta?

Asked by David Alonso

Five years ago we bought a new manual diesel VW Jetta and it's been fantastic to drive, reliable and frugal. But when it comes time to service it hurts. My last service was, gulp, $1400. And that wasn't even the big 100,000km one. I'm losing sleep wondering whether to stay the Jetta course or bail. My heart says stay but my head says bail. So should I bite the bullet and keep the Jetta, or ditch it for something small like a Kia Cerato.

Test drive the Cerato, see how it compares with your Jetta and then decide if you can make the change.
