My new 2012 Toyota Corolla Ascent Sport has a clunk/clack noise from the engine compartment or transmission when reverse is selected in the first few minutes of driving. I also noticed this sound occasionally when I have tried to downshift the gear manually from D to third and to second using the automatic gear lever. My Toyota dealership can't find the fault. Has any other Corolla owner experienced this problem?

30 Nov 2012It could be related to the transmission calibration, but it's not possible to say for sure without driving it. Take it back to your dealer and take him for a drive so you can demonstrate the problem. That way he might be able to fix it.
