Costly service

Asked by Brian J Ward

I had my 2006 Mitsubishi Colt serviced at a Mitsubishi dealer. It was in the workshop for 1 hour and 10 minutes, and I was charged $234 for labour, not including parts. The service assistants weren't very helpful when I queried the cost. Is this an excessive charge?

It is excessive. It's worth asking what hourly rate you will be charged before handing your car over to them.
