I'd be interested to see if you can confirm the replacement cost for the LED headlights on the new Mazda MX-5. I've heard they're in the range of $3000 each. If that's true, it seems to be a case of technology for its own sake. Surely this will result in higher insurance premiums and reduce the viability of it down the track as a classic.

12 Oct 2015I was also a bit shocked to see the fitted price is $2609.75, but that's likely to be similar to most of the other new LED systems. LED lamps give better light intensity and control, drain less energy, and allow more flexibility in front-end design and styling, so they're not technology just for the sake of it.
