Mazda MX5 service cost

Asked by Phillip Harris

A Mazda dealer recently quoted me a price of $270 for a minor service on my MX5 NC, but a local Brakes Plus shop has quoted me $120 for virtually the same service. The dealer service seems expensive given it only involves oil and filter and safety check. I would appreciate your comments.

The price difference between the dealer and the independent service outlet is typical of what you find. There’s no reason the Brakes Plus people couldn’t do the service.
