What SUV should I buy for $22,000?

Asked by Ron Figgins

My daughter wants to buy a second-hand small SUV, up to two years old, and the choices are Hyundai ix35, Mazda CX-5 and Nissan Dualis. She has about $22,000 to spend. What do you recommend, taking into account reliability, maintenance costs, fuel economy, boot space etc.

The CX-5 is the better vehicle, but the Hyundai is likely to be cheaper and with much longer to run on the factory warranty.
