Has my dealer cheated me?

Asked by Dave

My 2017 Renault Megane is due for its one-year service. While booking online it asked for the total mileage of my car. While I never really paid attention to this when I first brought it, I checked the odometer and it said 12,600 km, but on the "on-board computer" it said from the date of my purchase 9500 km.

Has the dealer cheated me? Is there anything I can do since it has already been a year? And what can I say when I bring my car to service with them?

Do you have the original papers you signed when you bought the car, they should show the odometer at the time you took over the car. That would be your starting point.

When you take it in for service ask them why there should be a discrepancy.
