Hatching a plan
Asked by Reg Absalom Broken Hill
I HAVE a 1985 Honda Civic hatch and was wondering if the auto transmission oil should be changed at regular intervals. It was last changed in '93, when the car had done 43,000km. It has now done more than 90,000km.

7 Oct 2004UNDER normal circumstances you should change auto oil every 20,000km or so, leaving it no longer than a year. Use Honda-recommended oil. If you're towing or doing some hard high-speed running, think about changing it more regularly. It's a good idea to regularly check the oil; it should be clean. If it isn't, get it changed.
