Hyundai ix35 2013: Why is it loosing acceleration?

Asked by Eric

My 2013 Hyundai ix35 has experienced lost acceleration recently. I found that it was the same problem that David Gung described in Ask the Guide in 2014. I wonder was the root cause of the problem found for David's car? Hopefully, it will solve my issue if I know the cause. I took my car to the dealer today and they could not found the problem.

Intermittent problems like yours are always hard to diagnose and fix because they rarely occur when the mechanic is present to observe them. It seems as though yours has gone into limp home mode after the computer detected a fault. The only course of action is persistence until the source of the problem shows up in a diagnostic check, or when the mechanic is there to witness it.
