Is a Volvo C70 or Jaguar X-Type a good first budget car in Australia?

Asked by Abhijiot

I want to buy a used car, either a Volvo C70 (2003-2007) or Jaguar X-Type (2002-2004). Which would be better and what are the maintenance, running costs, fuel efficiency, and the reliability of these cars? Are they worth buying as your first budget car in Australia?

I wouldn’t recommend either of them as a budget buy, unless you have deep pockets. They are both too old. While they might not be very exciting, a car from one of the big Asian brands, such as Mazda or Toyota, would be a much better choice for someone with a limited budget.
