I am new to Sydney and Australia, and new to brands outside the USA. I'm looking for an SUV family car with good mileage, low maintenance, auto, safe for kids and newborns, can be driven all across Australia for long road trips and looks 'hip!'. I don't want a box, but it also needs to be affordable, around $40,000. Which SUV do you recommend?

21 Oct 2016Your need for low maintenance rules out the Europeans, Jeeps are popular but aren't as reliable as I think they should be, leaving you with the Japanese and Korean brands. The cars I would suggest you look at are the Kia Sportage, Mazda CX-5, Subaru Forester and Honda CR-V.
