My 1992 four-cylinder Mitsubishi Magna has had a tune-up, the auto transmission has been serviced and the engine mounts have been replaced, but it's still vibrating when stationary in gear, and sometimes it hunts in gear, particularly when going up hills. One mechanic says it's the engine management system. What do you think?

2 Apr 2010Unfortunately the old Magna was known to suffer from idle shake when stationary and in gear, and there's not a lot you can do to get rid of it. Owners often put it into neutral to overcome it instead of leaving it in gear at traffic lights etc. As for the hunting in gear you could check the throttle position sensor and make sure that is adjusted correctly.
