Renault Australia has cut the Megane RS hot hatch’s range in half as part of its midlife facelift, with the entry-level Sport and mid-range Cup variants no more, while the flagship Trophy grade carries on.
As such, you now need $2200 more to get into the Hyundai i30 N, Honda Civic Type R and Ford Focus ST rival, and that’s taking into account the $500 price rise the Trophy grade has copped, with the six-speed manual version moving up to $53,990 plus on-road costs.
A six seven-speed dual-clutch automatic variant is still offered but now charges $56,990. Either way, a 1.8-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine drives the front wheels, with it producing 221kW of power and 400Nm (manual) or 420Nm (automatic) of torque.
