Mazda Australia has increased the pricing of the recently updated BT-50 ute.
The MY22 BT-50 only entered local showrooms last month, but all variants have already copped price rises.
Excluding the flagship Thunder grade that’s jumped $2000, all versions of the Isuzu D-Max twin have become $100 dearer.

As such, the range now starts from $33,650 plus on-road costs for the automatic XS 4x2 single-cab chassis and reaches to $70,990 for the automatic Thunder 4x4 dual-cab pick-up (see full pricing table below).
Speaking to CarsGuide, a Mazda Australia spokesperson confirmed the BT-50’s standard equipment has not changed, with a sporty new SP grade having joined the range only weeks ago.
"Market changes, raw materials and production costs and currency fluctuations among other factors can all affect price setting. Mazda made a small price increase on some models in January to reflect those changes," they said.
For reference, the Toyota HiLux and Ford Ranger rival added a second engine option as part of its recent upgrade, with the entry-level 110kW/350Nm 1.9-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder (XS only) joining the familiar 140kW/450Nm 3.0-litre unit (XT, XTR, GT, SP and Thunder).
The former is exclusively mated to a six-speed torque-converter automatic, while the latter has another transmission option: a six-speed manual. 4x2 and 4x4 variants are available alongside single-, extra- or dual-cab/chassis or pick-up configurations.
