    2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 prices change as brand moves electric cars from online to showroom sales

    Hyundai Australia has moved to change its sales process for its Ioniq electric cars, resulting in small pricing increases for both models.

    The Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 were previously sold through online retail, rather than via dealerships as with the rest of the brand’s range.

    Now, Ioniq models will hit the dealership floor, and as such are now slightly more expensive to accommodate the extra costs related to the move.

    Hyundai specified that any MY2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 and 6 pricing remains the same, with the change only applying to the 2024 models.

    The changes are uniform for each model, with Ioniq 5 pricing rising by $2500, and by $1000 for the Ioniq 6 for every variant.

    For the Ioniq 5, this means the base 2WD with a 58kWh battery is now $67,500, before on-road costs, while the top-spec non-N AWD Epiq is $86,500.

    Pricing for the N performance model remains unchanged at $111,000, though the optional 'Vision Roof' is now $4000 instead of $2000.

    All Ioniq 6 models are capable of 350kW DC fast charging that can recoup from 10-80 per cent battery in under 20 minutes. All Ioniq 6 models are capable of 350kW DC fast charging that can recoup from 10-80 per cent battery in under 20 minutes.

    For the Ioniq 6, pricing now ranges from $66,500 to $86,500.

    No specification changes in either model, though the timing of the move is interesting given rivals like Tesla and Polestar have dropped pricing significantly in the last few weeks.
