Avant revamp: Facelifted 2024 Audi A6 and A7 wagon and sedans revealed as new-look BMW 5 Series and Mercedes E-Class rivals

Audi has revealed a light refresh of its A6 Sedan and Avant, and A7 Sportback, with the rivals to the likes of the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes E-Class launching in Europe, along with their sportier S6 and S7 counterparts.

The timing for the updated models' arrival in Australia is yet to be confirmed, but it’s likely they'll follow the European specifications with exterior pack choices as basic, advanced, and S line packages for the A6, and basic and S line for the A7.

Each gets its own design for the front and rear of the car, with the honeycomb structure in the grille in different finished for each, while the interiors are also finished differently for each - for example the S line interior package is based on the interior of the previous S line sports pack, where the dashboard and roof lining are all in black.

The S6 and S7 are styled differently, with aluminium-style inlays for the grille and side air intakes in black. 

Inside, Audi virtual cockpit is now standard with a 12.3-inch screen for the instrument panel, and controls via the steering wheel. Full LED lights are now also standard for the A6/S6.

Drivetrains remain unchanged for each model, though expect a pricing adjustment regardless when the new versions of each land.

It means 2.0-litre petrol four-cylinder and 3.0-litre petrol (or diesel for the Allroad A6) V6 engines remain, all turbocharged, while the S6 and S7 get a 2.9-litre twin-turbo petrol V6 in markets outside Europe, including Australia.
