Citroen has updated its C3 light car for the 2019 model year, with new equipment including AEB for the first time.
Priced from $26,990 plus on-road costs (+$3500), the 2019 model year C3 includes important equipment that was previously unavailable, to better compete with the Volkswagen Polo, Skoda Fabia and Peugeot 208.
Satellite navigation is now standard equipment, as is AEB, blind-spot monitoring and keyless entry and start.
The C3’s former 17-inch alloy wheels are now 16s for “greater comfort,” according to the company.
Other equipment includes automatic headlights and wipers, a 7.0-inch multimedia system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, climate control, front and rear daytime running lights, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning and a leather steering wheel.
Equipment and pricing aside, the C3 is unchanged. Still powered by a 81kW/205Nm 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine, the C3 is exclusively available with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The C3’s 300-litre bootspace can be opened up to 922L by folding the rear seats.
Fuel consumption is rated at 4.9L/100km on a combined cycle. The C3 requires a minimum of 95RON unleaded fuel.
