Just when you thought Honda had revealed its entire SUV line-up, it reveals another new model!
The Japanese carmaker has lifted the lid on its new Elevate medium SUV which is a little smaller than the soon-to-launch ZR-V.
A development of Honda’s Asia-Pacific R&D centre in Thailand, the Elevate was revealed in India and will be focused on that market initially, however the company stated in a release that the car would be a global model.

Whether that means it will be offered predominantly in emerging markets, or mature markets like Australia as well, remains to be seen. But for now, Honda Australia says it has not been confirmed for our market.
The Elevate measures in at 4312mm long, 1790mm wide and 1650mm tall, with a 2650mm wheelbase.
That’s shorter and narrower than a ZR-V, but about 30mm taller. It would fit somewhere between the HR-V and ZR-V.
The “bold and masculine” design has a boxier, edgier look than the ZR-V and its height is pronounced.
For now, the Elevate will be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine delivering 89kW/145Nm, paired with a six-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Honda says a fully electric version will be available within the next three years.
It can swallow 458 litres of luggage in the rear, and inside the Elevate comes with a 7.0-inch information display in the instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch multimedia setup.
Safety gear includes the Honda Sensing suite, which includes AEB, lane keeping aid, adaptive cruise control and road departure mitigation.
