Legend! 2023 Subaru Impreza AWD S-Edition celebrates three decades of iconic model: Pricing and specs detailed for new Toyota Corolla and Kia Cerato rival

The S-Edition celebrates almost 170,000 Imprezas that have found homes in Australia since 1993.

Subaru is hailing a hero, with a special-edition Impreza set to pay homage to its own three-decade heritage.

The 2023 Subaru Impreza AWD S-Edition is ready to launch in Australia this year, 30 years after the nameplate arrived in the country - almost 170,000 Imprezas have been sold here since.

Staring from $36,290 before on-road costs, $3500 over the 2.0i-S model it's based on, the S-Edition will come with a “range of STI and genuine Subaru accessories” to differentiate it from regular Imprezas, with STI Enkei 18-inch alloy wheels, a front lip spoiler, side skirts, a new grille, as well as an 'S-Edition' badge.

Inside, black interior trim and a limited-edition STI shift knob help set the S-Edition apart.

It’s available in four colours - Pure Red, Crystal White, Crystal Black Silica and Magnetite Grey - and is available to order now.

Subaru Australia's Managing Director, Blair Read, said the Impreza’s nameplate and its three-decade history needed to be celebrated.

"Impreza has been an important part of the Subaru family for 30 years now, and this new special edition is our way of celebrating that legacy," Blair said.

"The added styling enhancements provide enhanced sports styling to match the Impreza's Symmetrical All Wheel Drive capability."

No mechanical changes means the Impreza S-Edition will run a 2.0-litre boxer flat-four engine with 115kW and 196Nm, via a CVT to all four wheels.
