Lotus reveals its most powerful four-cylinder yet: AMG-powered 2025 Lotus Emira Turbo SE can hit 0-100km/h in four seconds flat

2025 Emira Turbo SE

Lotus has announced a revised line-up for its two-door Emira sports coupe, with the new Turbo SE variant becoming the brand's most powerful four-cylinder to date.

The 2025 Lotus Emira line-up will consist of the Emira Turbo, Emira Turbo SE and Emria V6, which will override the previous Emira First Edition and Emira V6 First Edition that launched in Australia in 2022 and 2023, respectively.

Customers will still have a choice of two powertrains: an AMG-sourced, variable geometry, turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with an eight speed dual-clutch gearbox, or a Toyota-sourced 3.5-litre supercharged V6 engine, mated to a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox.

The range kicks off with the four-cylinder Emira Turbo, which produces 268kW/430Nm. It adds new 20-inch 10-spoke cast alloy wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport tyres, new foot pedals, new interior headliner fabric and Vivid Red paint as standard.

Headlining the new line-up is the new Turbo SE variant, which sees power output boosted by 30kW and 50Nm for a total of 298kW/480Nm. It records a 0-100km/h time of four seconds flat and a top-speed of 290km/h, making it the fastest Emira yet.

It gains the Lotus Drivers Pack as standard, which includes sport suspension setting, updated cross drilled and ventilated two-piece brake discs and launch control. There’s also new 20-inch V-spoke wheels, alcantara headliner, red brake callipers, new black Emira Turbo SE badging and a new Zinc Grey standard paint colour.

The V6 maintains its 298kW/420Nm output, delivering 0-100km/h time of 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 290km/h. It gains two-piece performance brake discs, Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport tyres, touring suspension with a limited slip differential for manual models, new headlining fabric, new branding and Vivid Red paint as standard.

“We are thrilled to announce the addition of new variants to the award winning Emira, one of the most successful Lotus models to date. In 2025, the Emira range will extend to meet wider customer needs while retaining the brand’s DNA and driving dynamics Lotus is renowned for,” said Dan Balmer, President & CEO of Lotus Cars – Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa.

The Emira Turbo will be priced from $199,990 before on-road costs, while the Emira Turbo SE will be priced at $209,990 before on-road costs. It will be available to order from the middle of October.

Pricing and order dates are yet to be confirmed for the Emira V6, which is projected to arrive in 2025.

Chinese automotive conglomerate Geely purchased a 51 per cent stake in Lotus in 2017, though the British brand still maintains a manufacturing facility for the Emira in the UK.
