Mazda 3, Mazda 6 and CX-5 recalled over engine stalling issue

Three Mazda models have been recalled
Mazda is set to recall more than 18,000 vehicles over an engine stalling issue, with the Mazda 3, Mazda 6 and CX-5 impacted.
The brand will recall 1709 units of the all-new Mazda 3 (2019), 1693 units of the Mazda 6 (2018-2019), and 15,317 units of the CX-5 (2018-2019) to deal with a software glitch that can cause the engine to stall.
While the ACCC is yet to publish the offical recall details, the US information - published by NHTSA - reveals that the recall will remedy a software error that can cause "an unexpected stall (that) increases the risk of a crash".
The problem has been traced to a software error in the powertrain control module (PCM), and can be rectified by reprogramming the PCM software in a dealership.
Mazda Australia is advising owners to visit its website for all current recall information.
