New Hyundai Elantra 2020 pricing and specs detailed: Mazda 3-rivalling sedan now costs more
Hyundai Australia has increased the pricing of its current-generation Elantra small sedan.
All variants are now $250 more expensive, with a Hyundai Australia spokesperson telling CarsGuide the company has “been absorbing exchange-rate pressures for some time but has now been forced to increase prices”.
As such, the Elantra now ranges in price from $21,740 to $34,240 plus on-road costs (see full pricing table below). Specification is unchanged.
Four grades are still on offer: entry-level Go, mid-range Active and Sport, and flagship Sport Premium.
A 112kW/192Nm 2.0-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine powers the Go and Active, the former of which is available with a six-speed manual in addition to the latter’s six-speed torque-converter automatic.
The Sport and Sport Premium are motivated by a 150kW/265Nm 1.6-litre turbo-petrol unit, which is mated to either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
All versions of the Mazda3 sedan rival exclusively send drive to their front wheels.
